    What Media Should I Use?

    The Carbide 600 is the nozzle system. Abrasive media is the consumable that does the cutting — and for the wider bore, 30-grit abrasive is the preferred all-around starting point.

    Always keep the media dry. Keeping your abrasive dry solves most feed problems before they start. Wet or clumped media is the most common cause of poor feeding. Sift before use, and keep extra nozzles on hand for big projects.

    I bought this to get graffiti off of a stone wall. I had tried acetone, a pressure washer and it didn't do anything. This wet sandblasting unit worked great! There are units available for less money, but this unit is built well, works great, and I highly recommend.

    Over the years I have used professional sand-blasting equipment - on steam-turbine blades, locomotive motor/generator chassis/parts, and smaller fasteners/accessories. That's all wonderful - and very effective if one has access to the expensive/industrial dry sandblasting (including metal media/pellets) equipment. For DIY/home-use I've used a regular sand-blasting gun/hopper combo with various media types - from play-sand to glass. However, it's very messy - especially when it's done in the open. Wet Sandblasting is gaining popularity among home-owners and DIYers because of its simplicity. Of course one needs to have a good pressure-washer. Sandblasting Kit is a bit pricey compared to some of the other cheaper ones on Amazon, however, i havnt found a system like this anywhere the price is reflected in its quality. The build-quality is good, and it comes with a good long hose (for the sand/media). There's short wand/extension provided, though. It's still winter but fortunately the weather/temperature was good for me to test this - before the actual rework on my Jeep chassis scheduled for spring. I connected it to my 3500PSI/241-bar, 2.8GPM pressure-washer, and used play-sand for testing - on a scrap rusty metal-channel. This was the first time I used wet-sandblasting, and it was easy, repeatable, and economical. Ensure the media inlet/hose is above the water feedline, and keep the wand-tip pointed down at all times - to prevent water seepage into the sand/media bucket. The well-written and illustrated instruction manual does have some useful/important information - especially for first-time users. The kit comes with a 3M safety glasses. 1 carbide nozzles got 5 extra. Overall very happy with this product.

    This sandblasting set is really good quality and has durable materials produced great results. The heavy siphon end is very thick and solid, the welded bottom creates more suction with the slits and the air nob made it flow great dye work and quality craftsmanship. As well, it is easy to dismantle and maintain. And the gun is attached to a thick rubberized, plastic hose, Connect to your existing pressure washer.

    Very impressed, blasted my 44 year old skidloader rims in 20 minutes with little wire wheeling afterwards because I couldn’t get all the angles with wheels still on the machine. Used a whole 40lb bag of media in a Homer bucket. Highly recommend having a second person to move tube in media to keep media moving consistently. I made the order for the gravity feed so it’s more consistent. Exceeded my expectations and put a smile on my face. Use long sleeves and a face shield! It tickles a little. Very happy with result, pics are after sandblasting and final paint.
